1 Kudzukiri
Kudzukiri is made from Kudzu starch. Kudzu is one of the plants that including many denpun into their roots.
We add water to Kudzu starch and heat it, and make it hard thinly. This sweets are usually eaten with syrup.

2 Ichigo daihuku
And Ichigo Daihuku is that whole straw belly is filled with sweet bean jam, and soft rice cake fills it. The sweetness of bean jam and sour-sweet flavor of straw belly matches well.

3 Senbei
Senbei is the Japanese cracker made from glutinous rice. this has many seasoned flavors like soy source, sesame, sugar. My favorite flavor is black sesame!(109 words)

Strawberry cheese cake: this is included strawberry pulp, jam, and rich taste cheese cake.



Rocky road: A bitter chocolate holds almond, and marshmallow. The appearance of this ice looks like a lugged rock, so this ice was given the name, Rocky road!!



And, 31 ice cream has seasonal flavor! Of course in November, too! Many kinds of seasonal flavors have come! Cappuccino Biscotti, Pumpkin pudding, and Base ball park! Base ball ice is included popcorns, pretzels, and peanuts! This ice makes us happy like we are in the Baseball Park!!

List 7 favorite doggies

Doberman
Dobermans were investigated in German in 19th century and they have been used as a sniffer dog. The name comes from the investigator, Carl Luis Doberman. This dog has short and smooth body hair, a highly developed sense of smell and muscles. So their appearance is so cool. Originally, they had had long ears and a long tail. But these were cut for improvement for their skill as a police dog. They faithfully obey their boss’s order.

Labrador retriever
Labrador retriever came from Labrador district in Canada, and was brought to England. Originally, they were big sized dogs that were trained as a retriever. However, they are now active all over the world as a police dog, Seeing Eye dog and drag dog. And more, they can work as a water rescue dog thanks for their water-proof body hair. Their character is calm, gentry, and they like children, so they are popular as a home dog.

Dachshund
Dachshund came from German, and their name Dachs mean the bear in Germany.
Their body is very characteristic. The body is long, however their feet are very short in compared with their body. This dog is divided to two types, one is a standard type, and another is miniature type. These two types of them both have 3 types body hair, one is long, one is short, and another is wire haired. Present day, miniature types are very popular among all over the world, because their sizes are convenient to have in the house.

German shepherd
Shepherd comes from German and it means hitujikai in English. This type of dog is very clever with training. Originally, they had been used as a sheep dog, and now they are used as a police dog, military dog, or Seeing Eye dog. Their appearance looks like a wolf and have strong body. their body hair is dark brown, and mixed. (319 words)

Great Barrier Reef is the world biggest coral reef that placed to the Queensland seashore in northeast Australia. It consists of 3000 coral reefs and 900 islands, and total length is 2600km. in 1981, it was registered to World Heritage. These coral reeves are growing up even now. Great Barrier Reef is popular sightseeing spot for resort, scuba diving, and cruising. Lately, this spot became the setting for a movie「Finding Nimo」.
But, some environmental problems happen to there. The most serious problem is global warming. And badly, it is said that visiting by tourists is linked to destroying coral reef.

List 2-5 Pompeii

The Pompeii was the polis that had been placed in near Napoli until AD 1 century. This polis was annihilated by an eruption of Mt. Vesvio in 79. In 18th century, a excavation has been started, and now, some important parts of remain are opened to the public for a charge. This remain is now one of the World Heritage.
In BC 89, the Pompeii became a colony of Roma. And it also became a very important strongpoint to carry many cargos that arrived at the port to send it Roma for Via Appia, and after this, it prospered as a merchant town.
On 5th February in 62, a major earthquake hit the Pompeii, and many towns were damaged so much. Although, towns were soon rebuilt greater than before, on 24th August in 79, Mt. Vesvio erupted. Volcanic ash blew down from the mountain a whole day and night, and the towns were buried under the ground completely until next day. After the annihilation, towns were never built in there. But these zones had been called “the towns”, and many people knew that the ancient polis is buried under the ground because ancient stuffs are withdrawn.
In 1748, the Pompeii was rediscovered. When the explosion in 79 BC, many people who failed to escape died with buried under a volcanic ash. When the town was discovered, their corpses were crumbled and had gone, and spaces were formed instead of their corps. Archeologist poured gypsum into it and restored the people or animals who are trying to escape from the disaster. These are so real and horrible. Remains of the town tells us that the life style of ancient Roman at that time. Breads just were baked, dishes and cutleries on the table, coins, and doodles on the walls tells us the Latin language at that time. The Pompeii was certainly a big city with full of energy.
And even now, many stuffs are discovered from Pompeii. (329 words)

List4 Niagara falls

Niagara falls are placed in Niagara River that is flowing from Lake Ellie to Lake Ontario. And it’s a border that divides Ontario State in Canada and New York State in U.S. this fall is known that abundant water resources and beauty of view. Niagara falls are broadly separated Canada fall and America fall. These falls were formed in retreat age of the final glacial period. And these falls are in the process that the great river lakes flow into the Atlantic Ocean through the Niagara cliff line. Although heights of falls are not so high, the widths are so wide. And the quantity of water of the falls that flows singly is number one in North America.
The name of “Niagara” is from the Iroquois tribe language. It means “Nee-ah-Ah-rah”(water that crashing the thunder). It is said that in 17c, some European explorers and missionaries discovered and visited there.
In 18c, tourism for this falls became famous and it became a main industry in middle 18c. A number of tourists were getting increased, so, the foot bridge was build in 1848, and 2 suspension bridges were also built in 1855. After the civil war, New York central railway company built the line and in1897, the first railway bridge was built.
Today, around the Niagara fall were developed beautifully and comfortably. So we can access easily by car and we can also reach near the bottom of the falls.
Niagara is counted that one of the world three biggest waterfalls; others are Victoria fall and iguazu fall. However, Niagara isn’t registered to the World Heritage. (267 words)

List3 Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon is the big gorge that is placed in the north side of Arizona State. This canyon was originally a Colorado tableland, and present landform was encroached by Colorado River. We can see a bedding place from the Precambrian to Permian period. This canyon has a worth of history of the earth and these magnificent views are included the Grand Canyon national park. In 1979, this was registered on The World Heritage.
The average of this is about 1200m depth, 446km long, 6~29km width, and the deepest point is 1800m depth. Anyway this canyon is tremendous!!
It is said that the human have lived 10500years ago, and Native American has lived at least 4000years ago. There are over 1500 plants, 355 birds, 89 mammalian, 47 reptiles, 9 amphibians, and 17 fishes in this national park.
About 4000000 visitors are coming there every year all over the world. This canyon has north rim and south rim, the main sightseeing spot is south rim. South rim has six inns, gift shop, bank, super market, and station. And also, free shuttle bus runs for three lines.
Visitors come to there by car or by plane. It takes 5 hours by car, and 1 hour by plane. (208 words)

Mont saint-Michel is the religious house that is built on the small island in saint-maro bay, west coast of France. It is one of the Christian pilgrimage sites and is praised as a “western amazement”. This place was registered the world heritage as a “Mont saint-Michel and it’s bay” in 1979, and is registered with the Ramsar Convention.
Mont Saint-Michel used to be connected to the mainland via a thin natural land bridge, which was covered at high tide and revealed at low tide.
This island has been called “Mon tomb (the mountain of tomb)” and it was the holy land. In 708, the bishop Obelle had a dream that an archangel “Michel” have a revelation in his dream. He stood in awe of this dream, and built the chapel. This is the beginning of this religious house. Since the middle century, many pilgrims has gathered there as a holy place of catholic.
During the hundred years’ war, Whole island has done the duty of floating fortress on England and France channel. Now there are still cannons and burettes that England army has left at the gate of Mont saint-Michel.
The end of 18 century, religious house was abolished and was used as a prison until 1963, but it was restored as a religious house again in 1865. In 19 century, a dyke was created and was made a rail road and road, and Mont saint-Michel was connected by land.
It is very beautiful, solemn and mysterious. (251 words)

Puerto Rico is placed to on the Caribbean Sea. There is Dominican Republic on the west side and Virgin Island on the east side.
Puerto Rico Island was discovered by Columbus in 1493, and then it was developed by Spanish and American. First, this island has being called “St. Johan Island” and “Puerto Rico” was the name of Town. But mapmaker has changed each name in mistake. And these names was made root.
From 1508, the colonization has been started by Spanish, about 30000 natives were subdued. The end of 19c, some Latin American colony started to movement for independent like Cuba, and this country. In 1897, self-government was born and this Island became a U.S territory.
In 20c, many Puerto Rican has moved to NY to seeking jobs.
Puerto Rican has U.S passport and they use is U.S dollar, they has high feeling as an American citizen. But almost Puerto Rican hardily speak English, they speak Spanish in daily conversation including TV media. Many different skin colors are living with in Puerto Rico like white, black, Chinese.
