Hey! How are you guys feeling?? Fall semester has started.
I will restart about my assignment, it is update to my blog, yes, this blog!
I borrowed some English books from library, and text book for TOEFL to score up my TOEFL point.
And, last night, I went to TSUTAYA to borrow some CDs for my I-pod. I go to school by bike, so everyday I am listening to music in my I-pod on my way to school! I borrowed some western HIP-HOP and R&B music CDs. These music always made my way to school very exciting and enjoyable!
I will enjoy my school life and study hard for TOEFL! (112 words）

today is a long-expected day!

Today was long-long- expected day for me. Because, today was the publication day of successful applicant of exchange program.
And, I … got through it!! yeeeeeeeeah! And I got through the first choice. It was University of Incarnate word in San Antonio, Texas!!
And there is one more student who got through the exam in this university.

This picture is notification of passing. I am soooooooooo happy to receive it! I feel like dancing now!!
And I will attend the workshop about the study abroad and I will meet other successful applicants in this program. It will be first time to get together. So I am looking forward to meet them. Today became a very very important day for me. ( 124 words)

eat out with friends

On Thursday, I went to downtown to eat out with friends. These friends are my transferred friends. Their name is Takako, and Mika.
It was a first time to eat out with them, so I was looking forward to. Sakaso, where we have a dinner was Japanese style restaurant, and had many Japanese dishes like yakitori, and sashimi. We have talked many topics that usually we don’t talk deeply at university as ate some dishes. For instead, our steadies, future dream, things about study, and so on. It was a really good time, and by all means we want to eat out and talk with them!! (110 words)

class reunion!!

On Monday, I held a class reunion when I was 2nd grade in my high school. Actually it was not deliberate reunion. First, one of my friend (maybe she is an organizer, and now she is returning home on vacation.) called many classmates who is living in Kumamoto now. I am of course living in Kumamoto, so I was given a call from her. I was on my way to my tutor student’s house when my phone called. So I joined to this reunion after the tutor. I met some of my friends after an interval of 3 years, so, I reminded good memories in my mind.
2nd grade class in my high school was soooo funny! Class room had been full of laughing every day! Some students made us laugh and imitated our subject teacher. I hated to study, but I liked to go to school, especially to my class room!!
Now, everyone is working at their own interesting field, for instead, nurse, teacher, apparel industry… their eyes were brightening with hope and zeal. Now, I am a student, so I thought that I also want to get a job that I eager to do.

SATC is back!!!!

Hey everyone! Are you enjoying your own vacation?
Lately, I watched SATC on WOWOW. It was rebroadcast but really exciting and fun as expected!
Oh, by the way, do you know SATC? SATC is abbreviated of Sex and The City, and is American TV program that is broadcasted from 1998 to 2004, for a total of six seasons, and it got many awards, Emmy awards, Golden globe awards, etc…

This program set in New York City and the show focuses on four women in their mid-thirties. These women discuss their sexual desires and fantasies, and their pains in life and love. The show often depicts frank discussions about romance and sexuality, particularly in the context of being a single woman in her mid-thirties.
This show has four heroines who have attractive personality and way of live.

Carrie Bradshaw is the main character of heroines and she is the narrator of each episode. She works on her PowerBook in her apartment and writes her weekly column “Sex and the City” for the fictitious newspaper The New York Star. These articles are focusing on the different aspects of a relationship. She is known for unique fashion sense (particularly footwear. “Manoro Brahnik” foot wear.) by New York citizens. She is house-proud and heavy smoker.


Samantha Jones is the oldest and most sexually confident of heroines. She is an independent business woman, and made a go of the business. Now, she is an executive of own company. She is confident, strong, outspoken, calls herself a “try-sexual”, and has a number of relationships in the show. But one of her best qualities is her loyalty to her friends.


Charlotte York works in art gallery and has had a conventional upbringing. She has traditional attitude about relationships and is the most conservative and positive of the group. She is the one who places the most emphasis on emotional love, and a true romantic. She is always searching for her “knight in shining armor”. She likes elegant fashion, and her fashion and way of thinking is placed opposite position of Samantha.

Miranda Hobbes is a career-minded lawyer and has extremely cynical views on relationships and men. She graduated Harvard Law school and Carrie’s best friend, confidante, and voice of reason.




These four heroines are living in NEW YORK, and growing up through pain in love, business, and their life. Their attitude and friendships in these situation have strike a chord with numerous women in twenties and thirties all over the world. The last parts of each episode always give us purposeful thinking.


And, this program has one more remarkable point. It is each heroine’s fashion! Their individual fashion sense expresses their lifestyle and colors the story more gorgeously. And surprisingly, their fashion set a trend in real world at that time! The fiction TV program has changed the fashion of real world. That’s interesting!



Young woman who is wondering in love or interesting the trend probably will like this program. And, in this year after 4 years of end of this TV program, SATC will be a movie! Carrie and other attractive characters will be back! Wow, that sounds wonderful! The movie version has been already released in U.S, and it will be released in August 23, 2008.

Apologize One Republic ft Timbaland

One Republic is an American Rock band formed in Colorado. Do you like ice cream? Probably many boys and girls like it! And they also may feel like having a delicious ice cream because it is too hot in this time.
Then, do you know the summer snowman? It sounds that these two words summer and snowman are the clear contrary. But, it exists at 31 ice cream. Does it fascinate with you?
Now, at 31 ice cream, they have an interesting campaign! If you will order the king size ice cream, you can get one small size ice cream free. And the clerk puts the small size one on the king size one. So… it looks like a snowman!

a large number of books... what for??

Hello! Do you see these books? I borrowed these books at KGU library. What for?
It is for my assignments. I was given them as a summer vacation assignments.

First, I have to write about the book review in my blog. This blog is for my writing class. So I rent these English books for book review.

Second, I will investigate about my seminar topic. My main topic is Black English. It is as known as Ebonics. So, I lent Black English grammar and pronunciation and history books. I think it is very useful for my study.

Third, I want to brush up my English skill more and more during in this vacation. Especially, I want to study everyday conversation. In spring semester, I had many chances to talk with international students. But I couldn’t express my feeling and opinion so much at that time. So, I think that I will improve and make good use of my English conversation skill. (226 words)

And finally, I am planning about my future now. And I am interested to the Tukansi(通関士)(sorry, I don’t know how to say tukansi in English.) it sounds good and interesting for me, so I will collect some information about it, and consider it.

Anyway, this vacation will be busy and very full, I think.

Open Campus!!!

Today was an Open Campus day! I went to the university as the English Lounge stuff.

By the way, did you already go to the new English Lounge?? The new one is totally different from previous one. The room is so spacious and sunny. Also this room has sink, lunch counter, and comfortable sofa. And then, surprisingly, they have liquid crystal television and dart board! Wow, that’s amazing! Students must enjoy it!

And, an Open Campus, it was really interesting! When I got to the lounge, there were few people in there. Some high school students are chatting with lounge stuff and listening to about the home stay program and exchange program of this university. It looked very useful information for students who are thinking about entry to our university. And then, some students are talking with professors about subjects of foreign language faculty. Their eyes looked serious. I also enjoyed playing dart, chatting with doctors, and having sweets!

Finally, many high school students came to the lounge and spent their own separate time. I think that we had a good advertising campaign.

We hope that many students will enter this university next spring. And, I want to put this lounge to good use when the fall semester has come! I am looking forward it!!( 215 words )

Indiana Jones 4 ! -the kingdom of crystal skull-

Recently, I went to the theater with my father to watch Indiana Jones 4.

First, I was thinking about I will go to there alone, however, I remembered my father likes adventure movie like Indiana Jones and he was watching this series (maybe 2 and 3) on TV what was televised as a publicity for latest one. So, I invited to him to go to the theater together.

After arrived the theater, we bought usual food and drink, it’s coke and pop corn. And we went in the theater room.

I can’t tell detail of this movie because many people who are watching my blog might not watch this movie yet. But it was really really exciting! There are many action scenes in this movie, so I couldn’t take my eyes off it. And also I liked some American jokes in it. This scenes made us laugh, and enjoyed. Harrison Ford, the role of Indiana Jones hardly looks his age. He is now 66 years old! He is pretty old, but he’s worn well. The story was also simple, so, we could enjoy it.

I don’t know this series will be made the sequel, but maybe the sequel will be also exciting and fun! (204 words)

Summer vacation has started!

Hello, everyone! Are you enjoying a summer vacation? The summer vacation of university is the first time for me although I am junior. So, I am looking forward to it now!! Now, I am planning to the schedule of summer vacation. First of all, I will earn and save my money for the study abroad. Although I don’t know about the result of the test of exchange student program, I will go study abroad even if I fail this test. So, I will work part time job so much in this summer. Second, I will enjoy travelling. Now, I am planning to travel somewhere in Japan. Maybe it is Tokyo, or Fukuoka. And also, I am planning to go to the beach and camp out near there with my community college friends. I am exciting about it because I have not been to the sea and camp for three years. I will have a good time and make a never forgettable memory with them. I hope You guys will enjoy your summer!! (180words)

Prom party!

The prom season has come in U.S! Senior student will enjoy this event!
By the way, do you know the PROM?
We will decide one topic, and study, presentation about American culture In American Affair class. And them, we got a good information about prom. So, I will introduce about it.

In the United States and Canada a prom, short for promenade, is used to describe a semi-formal graduation dance party. It is held at the end of an academic year. It will be usually held between July and September. As a rule, student can attend the prom as a couple. Your date can be anyone; for example boy friend, classmate, graduated student. They call the partner “date”. The attendance is not compulsory. Generally, boy ask girl out to the prom.

The hall is usually their high school gym, or hotel. At the hall, rock in roll band or DJ will come, and they arouse students at the prom to enthusiasm. The Rock music is standard number as a buck ground Music, and lately, the HIP-HOP is also popular among them.

Proms were first mentioned in the high school yearbooks of the 1930s and 1940s, but historians believe they may have existed as early as the late 1800s. Proms first began in the elite colleges of the Northeast. High school proms began in the early 1900s, they were relatively simple affairs. The high school prom expanded into a yearly class banquet at which seniors arrived in party clothes and danced.
Present day, Prom is one of the most exciting events. So, They, especially girls want to have fun so much!!

Students will prepare for the Prom from before 2 or 3 month.
In Prom, Boys usually dress a tuxedo, sometimes with brightly colored cummerbunds or vests, and boutonnieres. Girls usually wears formal dress, and then, she dress up her hair and make-up. She put on a corsage. After dressed up they changes so wonderful!
Traditionally, girls gave boys matching boutonnieres to be worn on their tuxedos or waistcoats. Girls traditionally wear adorned with a corsage given to them by their dates.

On the very day of the prom, some students get together, and ride in the same limousine. And they goes to a good restaurant by limo, and have a dinner.
After the dinner, they arrive at the hall.
When the couple comes in the hall, they have photographer take a picture. They pose for a good picture each other. This picture will be a great memory in their life. And then, DJ or music band begin to play the music. Many students enjoy dancing, and chatting.
In the end of the prom, there is a big entertainment. It is election of prom King&Queen. Many participant votes for candidates and decide them. The couple who was elected will be given a crown and big bouquet. And they will be taken a picture by many students.

But, some problems are existed. One is the cost. Cost of the prom is one of the biggest problems. They need a very big money for a dress, corsage, admission fee, transport expense (limousine) ,food bill…etc.
Some of students who don't have any money can't attend the prom.
And also, underage drinking potential is serious problem.
Some students join Anti-Prom (morp) because of these reasons.
Prom is formal style party. At the prom only popular people (Jock and　Queen bee）are conspicuous. And more, sexual problem (gay or les),Religious problem are big problem.

Anyway, prom is alien customs to Japanese. So, although this event has some problems, we aspire to attend it.
There are some movies that prom is as a main topic of it in U.S. She's all that, Never been kissed, 10things i hate about you, is very very popular movies. If you are interested in Prom, you will enjoy it! ( 642 words) 　　

I got a comment from KGU student!

On Saturday, something happy happened in my blog. Actually, other writing class student has commented to my blog! The student was a girl, and a sophomore of Mr. Beaufait’s class. And, she told me that she was seeking an interesting blog topic among all KGU writing class. She was interested in my topic, and read it. Then, she decided to my blog topic is the most interesting for her. So, she put introduction of my topic on her blog, and introduced.
I was so surprised and very glad. Because, she elected that my topic is most interesting! And then, I was very glad that the person who is a stranger to me sent the message! I am a transfer student, so, I often feel that I can’t adapt my self to university, and I have thought nobody watch and read in my blog. But, after received this message, I felt that I am a member of KGU student.
I also will visit other student’s blog, and send a comment as possible as I can. (181words)

Drinking at Jeff’s Bar

On Friday night, I and my high school friend went to Jeff’s bar.
The prompt to go to bar was conversation at English Lounge on Friday 5th period.
There　were 2 international students, Chris Kate, and 3 students including me. Then, Chris told us he is going to go to Jeff’s Bar tonight with international friend. So, he invited us and Kate to go to the Bar. I like to drink at the Bar, and I thought that I want to drink with international friend. So, I answered “yes” to his invitation. After English Lounge, I asked high school friend by phone to go to the Bar with me. Since she has ever often been to Jeff’s Bar, and she like there, she gave a ready answer “yes!”
In 8:00 PM, we made it at Daiei in Shiotori, and went to the Bar. Since the Bar has just opened, no guests were there. We ordered a beer, and toasted. During enjoy chatting with her, gradually guests has began to come. After, some international students came to there. We gave a toasted each other. I drunk so much and had a good time. But my friend had to go home because she works her job tomorrow. And I was also sleepy, we have left there at 11:00 PM.
Since I usually go home at midnight when I went for drink at downtown, I felt that it was not satisfactory to me. However, I had a good time to get an opportunity to drink with international students. (259words)

Hello everyone! How are you doing? Today was so hot, right?
Although this is still June, I impatient to a heat like today, and yesterday.
Also I am afraid of July and August. It’s horrible a heat of high summer.
So, today, I did have my hair cut!! I felt refreshed!

Of course she is pretty, and her hair style is always nice and cool!

self introduction

Hello!
My name is Yoshie Mori. I’m 24 years old. I am a transfer student of KGU and majoring in English. Now, I am a junior. I am enjoying my campus life, because KGU has many useful institutions for my student life.

There are 5 members in my family, father, mother, brother, sister, and me. We have 4 doggies. They are so lovely.

My home town is Kokai, in Kumamoto city. Kokai is what is called old down town, and many people who live there have a lot of heart.

My hobby is watching movies and listening to music. I watch all genre of movies except science fiction. My favorite music is HIP-HOP and R&B. I am also interested in foreign culture, and fashion. On weekend, I often go to night clubs. They are full of loud HIP-HOP and R&B music and we can drink so much and many people are dancing on the floor. It makes me excited!

By the way, of course I study hard! My interested subjects are Black English, Cultural Anthropology, and Native American culture. I am also planning to go study abroad as an exchange student. And I want to study at a university in U.S, and want to experience foreign culture during my stay at your home! I hope that I will be able to assimilate some of it. My goal is to get over 800 points on the TOEIC.

The rainy season!!

Hello! Everyone! How are you doing?
So, did you remember the heavy rain on Wednesday? It was so terrible, and in Kagoshima, some houses were flooded under the floor. Wow, that’s too bad. According to the NEWS, In Kumamoto, the rainy season has set in.
Do you like a rainy season? I don’t like it so much! Because, rainy season has damp weather and, if we oblivious of humid, many clothes and foods go moldy! No, way!!
So, I hate this season! I wish that the rainy season was over quickly…
Anyway, today is foundation day in KGU! I will enjoy weekend’s night although it’s rainy all night long, NEWS said.

SUSHI with salt and lemon...?

I went to the sushi restaurant with my family on last Monday! I was looking forward to go to this restaurant because I like sushi very much!
By the way, I have a question. What do you usually dip your sushi in? I think many people answer they dips their sushi in soy sauce. Normally, it is. But, this restaurant uses not a soy sauce but a salt and lemon to eat sushi! They are rubbed on a part of a fish. What do you think about it? Do you think it is tasty?
So, I tried to it, and it was soooooooo delicious! Nothing fish smells in this sushi without soy source. Lemon juice and salt rubbed on fish when it is cooked will enhance its taste. And also, they bring out to the goodness of row materials of fish. I liked the way of eat.
If I get the opportunity, I love to go to there again!!! (165 words)

Does TITANIC2 exist!?

This movie trailer is started from Jack’s death. You all guys have ever watched TITANIC at least once, haven’t you?? And I think that many people remember Jack was dead, and Rose was saved after TITANIC was sunk. But, if is Jack not dead? If is Jack frozen floor of the sea and has not been die?
90years later the TITNIC was gone down, a salvage company pulled up the frozen Jack and raise him from 1912. Jack woke up, but he is surprised and can’t believe where he is in, because, now, he is in NY where he wanted to go to at that time, although TITANIC was sunk before arrive in NY. He is confused and fearful to realities of present day because there are so long gap between days he knows and now. He is taught that why he was came to life, and also he learns about many things and histories of empty 90years. And then, he tried to look for Rose but she isn’t because she was already dead. He couldn’t accept the fact, so, he escapes from the facility and goes to the grave of Rose…

Buuut!! Watch this trailer be careful! Did you notice some strange scenes of this trailer?
In fact, this trailer is not an official. This is just imitation that someone made it! If you are a moviegoer, you will find that this animation was made by pieced some movie scenes together. I found「shawshank redemption」,「beautiful mind」and so on.
And also, in this animation, there are some pieces of movies that Leonard Dicaprio has appeared. 「Romeo&Juliet」,「catch me if you can」, etc…
Anyway, this is made nicely! You might think this is real if you watch only one time.
Although this trailer is very nice, in my opinion, I think TITANIC2 should not be made because TITANIC is very splendid story and ending was very emotional, too. (356words)

The first time of part time job at english lounge!

I got the part time job at English lounge, and 30th April was the first time of part time job. When I got to the lounge, there is already one international student in the lounge. His name was Robert, who is international student from Montana, US. We have introduced our selves each other and talked about our own country. He talked to me about Montana, the purpose he came to Japan. Also, I asked to him about Japanese culture, some sightseeing spots where he have ever been to. We had a very good time!
In other words, we are co-worker in this lounge, so, I want to be a good friend to him.
And also, I want to cherish this meeting. To talk with him is the first step to understand our country and culture each other.
There are more 2 periods a week that I work as a part time job in this lounge. I hope that I can enjoy and have a good time to speak English in this lounge!!
